Buffalo Whitewashed by Morris
Saturday, June 23rd, 1894: The Bisons manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the New York Giants 14-0.

"It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said.

Ed Morris blanked them on 5 hits with no walks and 2 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Morris said.

"I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

To date this year Morris has compiled a 18-6 mark with a 2.69 ERA in 31 starts.
Streak Finally Over, Rayl Held Hitless
Tuesday, June 19th, 1894: New York brought Mike Rayl's hitting spree to a screeching halt today in its 14-6 victory over Pittsburgh at Dugdale Athletic Park. The Knights mound staff snapped the 25-year-old catcher's hitting streak at 22 games. Rayl failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats to end it.

Rayl is currently batting .332 with 3 home runs and 33 RBIs.
